The 7th of October is Frappe Day!
It’s a day to celebrate that delicious frozen, blended drink — even if not everyone actually agrees what a frappe is! In some places, a frappe is the same as a milkshake. Other places make a distinction. Some people say that a frappe always has to contain ice cream, while a milkshake may not always.
What do you say a frappe is? And how do you pronounce it: “frap”, or, “frap-pay”?
What is your favourite flavour of frappe? Black Forest, caramel, chocolate, coffee, dulce de leche, espresso, fruit, gingerbread, green tea, pumpkin spice, red bean, salted caramel, s’mores… ? The list of flavours now is endless! And what about a splash of alcohol in yours; maybe some absinthe even, New Orleans style?
What are your favourite toppings? Whipped cream, chocolate pieces, chocolate syrup, a cherry?
One of the most famous frappes currently made is that made by Starbucks®, which they call a Frappuccino®.
